A storm system is expected to finally clear out of Oklahoma on Friday.
The
National Weather Service said clouds would begin to dissipate and precipitation would end as high pressure builds into the southern Plains.
Temperatures are expected to slowly warm, then cool and warm again over the next few days.
On Thursday, skies were cloudy and light precipitation fell across the state. As a result, temperatures ranged from 45 degrees in
Guymon to 64 degrees in
Muskogee. The mercury peaked at 54 degrees in
Oklahoma City and reached 62 degrees in
Tulsa.
Skies should be partly sunny on Friday. Temperatures should reach the 50s and 60s for highs and 30s and 40s for lows Friday night, forecasters said.
Sunny, warmer conditions are expected on Saturday. Temperatures should reach the 60s and 70s.
A storm system is expected to track into the region on Sunday, bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms to Oklahoma through Monday. Highs should top out in the 50s and 60s on Sunday, and reach the 60s on Monday, forecasters said. Lows should range from the 30s in the Panhandle to low 50s elsewhere both nights.
Another storm system is forecast to track through Tuesday, possibly bringing a chance for more storms, forecasters said. Temperatures should reach the 60s and 70s on Tuesday and lows in the 40s and 50s are expected.
