Snyder can’t surprise Stoops
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops wasn’t among those surprised by Kansas State coach Bill Snyder’s return to Manhattan after a three-year retirement.
"Coach doesn’t do anything without it being very well thought out,” Stoops said. "Life changes. I guess for him he just felt the need to come back, and he’s healthy and heck, he’s able to do it. So he obviously felt it was what he wanted to do.”
Despite a pair of early losses to Louisiana-Lafayette and UCLA, Kansas State has won four of its last five games and sits atop the Big 12 North with a 3-1 conference record.
No Red River start time yet
Contrary to a report in Wednesday’s edition of the Dallas Morning News, next year’s Red River Rivalry game in Dallas is not scheduled to be played at night. No start time has been determined, and it’s doubtful that will change until summer at the earliest.
Stoops optimistic about RB Murray
Stoops said Wednesday that he is "more optimistic" about running back DeMarco Murray’s chances of playing Saturday. Murray missed OU’s last game against Kansas with a sprained ankle.
"DeMarco practiced more today,” Stoops said.
Competitive eating comes to Norman
Major League Eating will visit Norman on Saturday. The world governing body of competitive eating will hold the first-ever "Billy Sims BBQ Rib-Eating Championship” outside Owen Field at 3:30 p.m.
Quotable
Junior cornerback Dominique Franks, on what he told Oklahoma’s other corner, Brian Jackson, after returning an interception 85 yards against Kansas for a touchdown:
"He’ll say I get all the lucky picks, like on screens and I’m just like, ‘Man, you gotta have a bit of speed to be able to outrun a quarterback.’”
Jackson intercepted Texas quarterback Colt McCoy late in the fourth quarter, but was tackled by McCoy.

upon as the Liberal University in the state. Now, with the biggest Socialist President,
bigger than Franklin Roosevelt, ever elected in the United States of America, making Boren
one of his close personal friends isn't good pub. Maybe before every athletic event, the
student body can come on to the field or court and "goose step" for the crowd.
