Storms, flooding possible for Oklahoma this week

A storm system moving into Oklahoma is expected to bring rain and possibly thunderstorms to the state, prompting a flash flood watch in far southeast Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service issued the flash flood watch from 7 a.m. today to 7 a.m. Friday.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely across the state today, with heavy rainfall possible in far southeast Oklahoma, and daytime highs ranging from the mid-40s in the Panhandle to the mid-70s in the extreme southeast.

Heavy rain is expected to continue in southeast Oklahoma tonight, with a slight chance for showers in the rest of the state and overnight lows from the mid-20s in the Panhandle to near 50 degrees in the southeast.

There is a good chance for continuing showers in southeast Oklahoma early on Friday, with highs from the mid-50s to lower 70s.

Generally clear skies are forecast for Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the 60s to lower 70s and overnight lows mostly in the 30s and 40s.

Clear skies should continue on Monday, with highs in the 60s and overnight lows ranging from the mid-30s in the Panhandle to near 50 in far southeast Oklahoma.
