Mild, dry conditions to continue in Oklahoma

Mild, dry weather will continue across Oklahoma for the foreseeable future.

The National Weather Service said a ridge of high pressure will limit the effects of passing storm systems, and allow temperatures to remain seasonable.

On Monday, winds were light and skies were sunny. Daytime highs ranged from 65 degrees in Guymon to 76 degrees in Frederick, Lawton and Muskogee. The mercury peaked at 72 degrees in Ponca City and Tulsa, and reached 74 degrees in Altus, Guthrie and Oklahoma City, according to the weather service.

Skies should be generally clear Tuesday through Saturday, with temperatures reaching the 60s statewide on Tuesday. Lows in the 30s and 40s are expected Tuesday night.

Temperatures should peak in the 60s and 70s on Wednesday and Thursday, according to forecasts. Lows should dip into the 30s and 40s Thursday night.

Daytime highs in the 70s are expected on Friday and Saturday, and lows Friday night are forecast to fall into the 40s and 50s, according to the weather service. Lows on Saturday night are forecast to range from the 30s in the Panhandle to the low 50s in eastern Oklahoma.
