UCO men face Bears, Cowboys
The University of Central Oklahoma men’s basketball team will travel to Baylor on Thursday night and Oklahoma State on Saturday night for exhibition games. For the Bronchos, playing Division I schools is a win-win situation both financially and when it comes to player and team development.

"We’re excited,” UCO coach Terry Evans said. "It’s a huge stage. We’ve got Baylor Thursday, so we’re trying to keep our minds on that first, but they’re both big opportunities for us. It’s a chance to show how hard we can play at a high level. If we stay disciplined we have a chance to be competitive, maybe even win.”

Oklahoma Open set
Wrestlers from OCU, OSU, UCO and OU will take part in the Oklahoma Open on Sunday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Cowboys, Sooners and Bronchos are bringing their entire teams to the event. Admission is $4 for students and $6 for adults. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m., with all matches going straight through the afternoon to conclusion.

Extra points
OCU true freshman wrestler Cameron Ream finished third at the Lindenwood open at 133 pounds...SWOSU running back Bruce Hatton needs just 88 yards to reach 1,000 all-purpose yards this season...Langston’s road game at Asuza Pacific next Saturday will be the NAIA College Fanz Game of the Week and can be viewed online at www.collegefanz.com.

They could possibly make things interesting with a D-1 team in an exhibition, scrimmage, situation. The D-1 teams will treat these formats as scrimmages, or glorified practices. A team like UCO will come into these big arenas playing with everything they've got and preparing and playing like it was a national championship game. But they're likely to be like a deer in the headlights when the reality of the strength of the opposition and be intimidated in the big arena. They are already treating it like the biggest thing in their season with this press release. Sure haven't heard anything about it from Baylor or O-State. A real game with either opponent would be a blowout.
