OSU soccer team to face Missouri
The Oklahoma State women’s soccer team plays Missouri at 5:30 p.m. today in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals in San Antonio.
The Cowgirls advanced after a 3-0 win over Nebraska. Wednesday’s win was the sixth in a row for the Cowgirls, who improved to 13-7 on the season
OU’s Thompson up for Lowe’s CLASS award
Amanda Thompson, a senior basketball player at Oklahoma, was named one of 30 candidates for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award on Thursday.
From a list of 30 candidates, a national media committee will select 10 finalists in late January. Those 10 will then be placed on the official ballot for a nationwide vote beginning February 3. A fan vote coupled with votes from coaches and media determine the recipient.
The candidates will be trimmed to 30 in January, and a winner will be announced at the Final Four in April.
OU’s Courtney Paris was the 2009 winner of the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. The award encourages athletes to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Yard Dawgz sign four more
More familiar faces are coming back to the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. The organization announced that offensive lineman Kelly Butler, defensive end Aaron Chavers, fullback Freddie Rollins and wide receiver Danny Howard have signed contracts.
All four played for the Dawgz last season in the arenafootball2 league.

The Seminole State College doubles duo of sophomore Martin Arguello and freshman Mbonisi Ndimande finished as national runner-up at the ITA Small College National Championships held in Mobile, Ala.
