Tulsa Islamic group denounces Fort Hood massacre

A Tulsa Islamic group has denounced a massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, calling the shooting a tragedy and offering sympathy for the slain servicemen and their families.

In a news release sent late Thursday, the Islamic Society of Tulsa condemned the attack by Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist who opened fire in a medical screening facility.

"As Americans and as Muslims, we categorically condemn the shooting of the soldiers," a news release states. "No words can express the sadness we feel that Fort Hood's moment of celebration and graduation was destroyed in such a horrific way."

Paul, you know you'll just make yourself crazy fighting against this deep seated bigotry. Might as well let go & let the kool-aid drinkers have their little party at the expense of their fellow Americans (soldiers, their families & people of all faiths included.)

Hit enter too soon. Extremist Muslims kill, extremist Christians kill, extremist Sikhs kill, extremist Jews kill, extremist Buddists kill. See the pattern there? It doesn't have to do with the religion, it has to do with the culture of hatred that EXTREMISM brings. There are more extremist Muslims right now because they are the ones getting beaten up more right now, but if we had to fight for our homeland the way the Palestinians do now, you can bet that there would be EXTREMIST Baptist, Methodists and/or Catholics blowing themselves up in the marketplace because some charasmatic leader with a grudge convinced them to.

Dee -- google "Crusades", "Spanish Inquisition". Faith is used in an excuse to kill folks all the time. Don't like that George Tiller is performing late term abortions? Well Christ compels you to kill him (or so Scott Roeder believed). Don't like that Matthew Shepherd is gay? Well, since he's an abomination before God, those good Christian boys in Wyoming were perfectly justified in tying him to a fence and beating him to death. Christians believe that God promised Isreal to the Jews, so we take thier side when they trample over the rights of the Palestinians.

Folks are always bitching because they don't denounce these acts. Now they respond and everyone's still bitching. I'm starting to get the picuture here. Besides, aren't we Christians also killing people (including innocents) in the name of our beliefs?
