Class 6A state championships picks

Trite, tired, or otherwise, it will be Jenks/Union in the final. Neither will let themselves be surprised. As Matt notes, Jenks has something to prove. Union let Jenks beat them, that's where they are headed to prove themselves, and they won't let anyone get between them and that game. That said, anytime those two meet its a coin toss - play 10 games and it'll most likely be 5 and 5. It virtually always comes down to turnovers and homeruns, and this year should be no different. They both excell at defense, both aren't intimidated by anyone else or the playoff jitters, and both have amazing coaching staffs down the line that can find your weak spot and exploit it, and adjust when they need to. But perhaps the most impressive isn't the superstars, its the average kids who play after play just don't make mistakes. You may not like the fact that year in and out its those two, but make no mistake, if you like football, its ALWAYS a great game to watch. Southmore will be the last one standing from the west (make it to the quarters), but then Jenks. I believe Mustang has the better team, regardless of the regular season results, and would play Jenks closer, but in the end the same result. BA is the sleeper - lots of talent (maybe the best in the state), but head cases (they reflect their head coach in that regard). So plan on a trip to TU in December for 6A. For real drama, watch 5A!
