Lt. George Brown says troopers were notified of the crash about 1 p.m. Tuesday and that the only person that appeared to be on board the plane was killed.

The person's name was not released.

Brown said witnesses reported the plane appeared to be on approach to the airport — but that he did not know where the flight originated or what its destination was.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford said investigators are aware of the crash but have no further information.

Anadarko is about 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
