An 11-year-old boy died Friday after being hit by a pickup on U.S. 177 south of Stillwater, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
About 7:30 p.m., a pickup driven by Curtis Ramsey, 58, of Coyle, was traveling south on the highway about 5 miles south of Stillwater when the boy ran in front of the truck, troopers said. The boy, whom troopers did not identify, died at the scene. Coyle was not injured.
The highway was closed for about an hour and a half and was reopened at 9 p.m., troopers said.
