An exhibit featuring a 12,190-pound bar of chocolate visited Windsor Hills Baptist School on Monday to help educate students about healthy lifestyles.
World's Finest Chocolate created the bar to bring the idea of “portion distortion” to life with its “Think Big, Eat Smart” campaign. The bar was certified by Guinness World Records and is 4 feet wide, 3 feet high and 21 feet long.
Windsor Hills Baptist School, 5517 NW 23, has raised more than $3.2 million through World's Finest Chocolate fundraising since 1995.
The money has been used for new playground equipment and computers as well as to keep tuition low, according to the school's principal, Tony Keeton.
The tour includes an educational video, original music and a specially choreographed exercise dance to communicate the importance of active lifestyles and healthy eating.
The messages make exercise and portion control synonymous with “the good life” and stress that chocolate and other treats should be eaten only in moderation.
