1/3 of airline passengers don't turn off electronic devices during takeoffs/landings

Up to 30 percent of passengers accidentally don't turn off their their electronic devices during their flight's takeoff and landing, a new study finds and NBC Travel News reports.



The study, released by the Airline Passenger Experience Association and the Consumer Electronics Association on Thursday, said 59 percent of travelers reported always turning their device off when they were asked. 21 percent said they instead switch it to "airplane mode." Five percent said they only sometimes turn off their devices.
