The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office has filed Medicaid fraud charges against the office manager of a now defunct Oklahoma City optometry clinic.
The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office has filed Medicaid fraud charges against the office manager of a now defunct Oklahoma City optometry clinic.
Prosecutors have filed 16 counts of Medicaid fraud against 52-year-old Robert C. Camp Jr. of Mustang. The charges allege false billing claims for eyeglasses and lenses.
The charges allege that since June 2011, Camp has billed the Oklahoma Health Care Authority for $359,459 in alleged fraudulent claims for eyeglasses that were never manufactured or delivered to Medicaid recipients. Investigators say the agency was billed for 3,496 pairs of glasses while only 524 pairs were made.
The clinic closed in October. Since then, investigators say Camp has allegedly billed the OHCA for 57 additional pairs of glasses.
The attorney general's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigates and prosecutes Medicaid fraud.
