Alan Thomas Jackson of Loco, an 18-year-old passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was partially thrown out of the rear passenger side window, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The accident occurred about 7:15 p.m. about a quarter of a mile south of State Highway 53 in Loco.

Investigators said the driver, Ashley Dawn Edwards, 16, was driving north on County Road 298 at a high rate of speed when she hit a dip and lost control. The car slid off the paved road and rolled about 170 feet. Edwards was treated and released from Duncan Regional Hospital.

Edwards and Jackson were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
