EDMOND — Two Cheyenne Middle School students were hospitalized after eating a toxic hallucinogenic weed, Edmond police said.

The boys, both 14 years old, were seriously ill, but are expected to recover, said Glynda Chu, Edmond Police Department spokeswoman.

The plant is called Jimson weed or known on the street as moonflower seed, Chu said.

Police were called to Edmond Medical Center three times Sunday because one of the boys was violent and out of control, according reports.

Later, police learned the boy’s friend was missing and his mother was afraid her son had overdosed on Jimson weed, the reports said.

The boy was discovered missing about 12:30 p.
