Two people died Tuesday night after shots were fired between two cars parked outside a vacant convenience store, police said.

The bodies of a man and a woman were found about 6:15 p.m. inside two vehicles parked in front of the empty store at Western Avenue and NW 26, Oklahoma City police Capt. Lisa Camacho said.

Police Capt. David Brewer said police still were working the scene Tuesday night and hadn't searched the cars for weapons. He said it was too early in the investigation to say whether the incident was a murder-suicide or if there were multiple guns involved.

The two people in the cars were the only victims and police were not looking for any other suspects, Brewer said.

“Any time you have people firing multiple shots in a neighborhood, there is a potential for someone to be injured other than the participants,” Brewer said. “In this case, we did have another house and maybe a fence that got hit. But as far as we know there are no other victims.”

Police hadn't identified either of the victims Tuesday night, Brewer said.
