STOCKTON, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York man is being treated for hypothermia after he and his son got stuck in the mud of a swamp while hunting.

The Chautauqua (shuh-TAW'-kwuh) County Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Brian Meyer and 20-year-old Patrick Meyer, both of Dunkirk, were hunting in the town of Stockton on Monday when they got lost and ended up in a swamp at the edge of Bear Lake.

Deputies say the two men got stuck in the mud and called for help on a mobile phone. Emergency crews rescued the men.

Brian Meyer was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk for treatment of hypothermia while Patrick Mayer was treated at the scene and released.
