MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — The Vermont History Museum in Montpelier and the Vermont History Center in Barre are offering free admission this summer to active duty military personnel and their families.

The Blue Star Museum program is available from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Nationwide, more than 2,000 museums are participating in the program sponsored by the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense.

Vermont Historical Society Executive Director Mark Hudson says the goal is to support military families and share Vermont's cultural heritage.
