SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two workers are recovering from injuries suffered when a Ferris wheel collapsed as they were taking down the ride at a western New York carnival.

Officials tell local media that the attraction had been in operation during this last weekend's Volunteer Firemen's Carnival in the village of Spencerport, just west of Rochester.

The ride was being dismantled after the carnival closed Sunday night when it partially collapsed, injuring two workers.

Officials say the workers were treated at a Rochester hospital for minor injuries.
