2-year-old drowns in LeFlore County creek

HOWE — Authorities say a toddler boy drowned after wandering into a creek in LeFlore County.

HOWE — Authorities say a toddler boy drowned after wandering into a creek in LeFlore County.

Undersheriff Kendall Morgan says the 2-year-old boy went missing from the family home near Howe shortly before noon on Sunday. Morgan says the child's mother reported him missing after she noticed he'd disappeared.

Morgan says LeFlore County authorities discovered the child's body about 20 to 30 yards away from the home. Authorities say the boy apparently drowned in a creek that was about 4 feet deep.

Morgan tells a local newspaper that the drowning is being ruled as accidental.
