2-year-old foster daughter of Oklahoma police officer drowns

The foster child of a Sand Springs Police Department officer drowned in a swimming pool Tuesday morning, Deputy Chief Mike Carter said.

Authorities responded to the address in the 500 block of West Overholt Drive at about 9:30 a.m., after the 2-year-old girl's foster mother had retrieved her from the pool and begun CPR.

Fire and EMSA crews responding to the scene pronounced the girl dead.
