COMEBACK OF THE YEAR

Tulsa Union 23, Broken Arrow 22 (6A title game)

When: Thursday, Dec. 1

Where: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater

The story: Broken Arrow had seized all of the momentum and looked like it would put an end to the Tulsa Union-Jenks stranglehold on the Class 6A gold ball. The Tigers scored on a 40-yard TD pass and added the 2-point conversion to take a 22-16 lead with just under four minutes remaining. But on Broken Arrow's next drive, sophomore Coleby Evans picked up a fumble and returned it 30 yards for the go-ahead score, clinching the Redskins' fourth straight 6A championship.

GAME OF THE YEAR

Millwood 27, Bishop McGuinness 21

When: Friday, Sept. 16

Where: Pribil Stadium (Bishop McGuinness)

The story: Millwood seemed beaten. The game was tied at 21, and Bishop McGuinness had driven down to Millwood's one-yard line with two seconds left in the game. The Irish lined up for a field goal, but Falcons DT Bobby Wilkes opened up a gap, Marc Robinson blocked the kick and Larry Lambeth ran all the way back for a touchdown to give Millwood an unbelievable win.
