This year’s winners and honorees of the 2013 Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards are:

Womenswear Designer of the Year:  Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler

Menswear Designer of the Year: Thom Browne

Accessories Designer of the Year: Phillip Lim for 3.1 Phillip Lim

Swarovski Awards for Emerging Talent: Womenswear, Erin Beatty & Max Osterweis for Suno; Menswear,  Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne for Public School; Accessories Design, Pamela Love.

Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award: Vera Wang for her creative, consistent influence on fashion.

International Award: Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy

The Board of Directors’ Tribute: Colleen Atwood, the first costume designer to be recognized by the CFDA.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave a moving tribute to Founders Award recipient Oscar de la Renta whom she met while hosting the Kennedy Center Honors in 1993. Clinton praised de la Renta for his contribution to fashion.
