The 26th annual Backwoods Hunting and Fishing Expo opens Friday in the Travel and Transportation Building at State Fair Park.
The three-day show opens Friday at noon and Saturday at 9 a.m. It closes at 8:30 p.m. each day. On Sunday, show hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Admission is $10 for adults. Children ages 10 and younger receive free admission.
In addition to numerous hunting and fishing vendors, the show will feature Muzzy's 200-inch whitetail deer exhibit, the annual state turkey calling contest, the Bass Tank with Brad Campbell, the Texas Snake Handlers with Joe Martin and more.

Trout fishing festival at Medicine Park
The inaugural Medicine Park Trout Festival will be held Friday through Sunday at Oklahoma's newest winter trout fishery on Medicine Creek.
Prizes will be awarded for the five heaviest fish weighed in during the three-day festival with a separate division for youth anglers. Fifty trout will be tagged for prizes. No entry fee is required.

Stillwater teen wins world archery shoot
Brogan Williams, 17, of Stillwater won the young adult female freestyle compound class of the World Archery Shoot held Feb. 9 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Williams was one of 21 girls competing in her division. The junior at Stillwater High School has been competing in compound archery since age 13.
She has won numerous state contests and was one of four 4H members of a compound archery team from Oklahoma that competed at the national championships.
Williams was the top female shooter in the compound archery division at 4H Nationals where the Oklahoma team finished fourth.
Trout season winding down at Dolese
Thursday is officially the last day of the trout season at the Dolese Youth Park Pond but anglers may continue to fish for trout until all have been removed.
The last 800 trout were stocked in the pond on Feb. 18. On Friday, anglers can begin to use three rods per person to fish, but the daily limit of six trout remains.
Trout Unlimited banquet on Saturday night
The 18th annual 89er Chapter of Trout Unlimited banquet will be Saturday at Sportsman's Country Club, 4001 NW 39.
The banquet will include a raffle and silent and live auctions. The auction preview begins at 5:30 p.m. with a live auction at 7 p.m. Tickets are $40.

Fly fishing school in the Illinois River
The Illinois River Fly Fishing School will be holding a second session March 15 and 16 at Tenkiller State Park.
Instructors will be former state wildlife commissioner Mark Patton of Edmond and Tom Adams, general manager of the Backwoods Store in Oklahoma City.

Concert to benefit NWTF program
A concert to benefit the National Wild Turkey Federation's Wounded Warriors program will be held March 9 at the Chisholm Trail Expo in Enid.
The band, Whiskey Myers, will be performing. Tickets are $20 to the general public but $15 for NWTF and National Rifle Association members who have identification.
