3 alleged robbers held after hitting SD police car

SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego police say three alleged robbers have been arrested after they collided with a police car while escaping.

The San Diego Union-Tribune says the men were arrested Monday night in Mission Valley. Their names weren't released.

Police say officers were called to the Comfort Inn after reports that two men — one apparently armed — tried to rob the business but fled before taking any money.

Police say officers were checking a parking lot a few blocks away when a car drove out of the lot at high speed and crashed into a patrol car.

No injuries were reported.
