3 arrested in murder of man found in van

Authorities have arrested three men in Joplin, Mo., for killing a Missouri man whose remains were found earlier this month in a burned van east of Quapaw in Ottawa County.

Kyle Ackerson of Joplin was charged with first-degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated robbery, criminal possession of a firearm and theft in connection with the Dec. 8 shooting death of Daniel Gildea, 27, of Neosho, Mo.

Ackerson is being held without bail at the Joplin city jail.

Authorities said Gildea died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Kenneth Leroy Bridges of Baxter Springs, Kan., is charged with aiding a felon. He is being held in the Newton County, Mo., jail on $25,000 bail. Michael Bridges of Neosho is charged with aiding and abetting first-degree murder and theft. He is being held in the Newton County jail on $50,000 bail.

The three were arrested Tuesday night in Joplin.
