Four workers were injured in a fire Thursday afternoon while a crew was performing maintenance on a natural gas pipeline in Garvin County.

The natural gas line fire was quickly extinguished, a spokeswoman for pipeline operator DCP Midstream said.

The workers were taken to the hospital in Lindsay, DCP spokeswoman Roz Elliott said. All four were treated and released.

Elliott said the maintenance crew was working near Lindsay at the time of the fire, which did not cause an explosion.

DCP reported the incident to the proper regulatory authorities, she said, and will investigate further on its own to determine what happened.
