CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Four contract workers have suffered burns in a flash fire at an Enterprise Products natural gas processing plant in South Texas.
Company spokesman Rick Rainey says the accident happened Tuesday afternoon at the Enterprise plant in Corpus Christi. Rainey told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times (http://bit.ly/1gkn5X0 ) that the workers were changing a component designed to filter the gas stream when the fire happened.
Emergency officials say two workers were transported to a Corpus Christi hospital. The other two workers were flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center. Names of the victims and further details on their injuries weren't immediately released.
The newspaper reports the injured workers are employees of Strike, an energy services company in The Woodlands.
Messages left Wednesday at Enterprise and Strike offices weren't immediately returned.
