4.0-magnitude earthquake hits central Oklahoma

The 4-0 magnitude earthquake and two smaller earthquakes also hit south of Langston, Oklahoma, on Friday night

A magnitude 4 earthquake hit south of Langston shortly after 10 p.m., the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

Its epicenter was 7 miles south of Langston and 9 miles east-southeast of Guthrie, and it was about 2.5 miles deep.

Two smaller quakes, 2.8- and 2.6-magnitudes, shook south of Langston shortly before the larger earthquake, the survey reported.
