400 kids expected for robotics competition

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Hundreds of young people are heading to Bowling Green this weekend to participate in a robotics competition.

The Kentucky First Lego League's State Robotics Competition starts at 9 a.m. CST Saturday and involves teams of 9- to 14-year-olds, who will research and explore the topic of natural disasters.

The competition is judged in project presentation, robot performance, technical design and programming of the robot, and teamwork.

About 400 children on 44 teams are expected for the competition at Western Kentucky University.
