Richard Attenborough, an actor and director famously known for his role as Dr. John Hammond in “Jurassic Park,” died this past weekend at age 90.
But Attenborough’s impact on the film industry expands far beyond the dinosaur epic. He’s also constantly commended for his work on the films “Ghandi” and “Shadowlands” — the biopic of C.S. Lewis, a religious thinker and writer, played by Anthony Hopkins.
“Shadowlands” grossed $25,842,377 during its time in theaters, which was more than its $22 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo. The film was released on Dec. 31, 1993, and averaged $5,012 per theater it was released in.

Hopkins puts it simply for the people in his lecture hall. Pain is meant to wake people up and make them learn something about their own faith and beliefs.
“Why love, if losing hurts so much? I have no answers anymore: only the life I have lived. Twice in that life I've been given the choice: as a boy and as a man. The boy chose safety, the man chooses suffering. The pain now is part of the happiness then. That's the deal.” — C.S. “Jack” Lewis (Anthony Hopkins)
