5 reactions to the 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' movie trailer

by Richard Hall Published: October 24, 2013

I’m a huge comic book fan but can be overly critical about comic book movies. Some are done extremely well, like “The Avengers.” Some are done to perfection, like “The Dark Knight.” And some are done with reckless abandon, like “Daredevil” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

The first “Captain America” movie is a solid effort, one of those that didn’t excite me at first but earned my interest as time went on. Then, I saw it, and now I consider it to be the second-best Marvel movie to date (behind “Avengers”).

Needless to say I was excited when I saw the trailer for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” was released just earlier today. The movie hits the big screen April 4, 2014.

Here’s the trailer:

And here are my five reactions:

5. Heck yes

Seriously. That’s one cool trailer, and “Winter Soldier” looks like it’s going to be one heck of a movie.

4. It looks polished

Trailers typically show a rough draft of the final product. Thus, it’s typical to see some instances of untouched effects, sloppy editing and so on. But this trailer looks polished, which just adds to the excitement because we get a great idea of what the final product will look like. Or, better yet, the final product will look better than what we got in the trailer.

3. Yep

This one’s self-explanatory.

2. Eh

Too much Black Widow. I’m not a big fan of the character in the movies, but I’ll deal with it.

1. The Falcon, ya’ll
