PENN STATE NAMES FSU'S BARRON ITS NEW PRESIDENT

Florida State University President Eric Barron has been selected as the new president of Penn State University. He was selected Monday to lead the university as it grapples with the fallout from the Jerry Sandusky scandal. He was a former professor at dean at Penn State.

FLORIDA ARTIST SMASHES $1M VASE AT MIAMI MUSEUM

A South Florida artist is facing a criminal charge after smashing a $1 million vase at Miami's new art museum in what police say appears to be a form of protest. Police say 51-year-old Maximo Caminero was charged with criminal mischief after Sunday's incident at the Perez Art Museum Miami. A security guard told officers that Caminero picked up a colored vase by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and smashed it. Caminero told officers he broke the vase to protest the museum's lack of local artist displays.

TAMPA MAN CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER IN CHICKEN FOOT BEATING DEATH

Police in Tampa say a man is facing manslaughter charges after he beat his roommate to death in a dispute over a chicken foot. Authorities say 52-year-old James Jugo was arrested after the beating death of 56-year-old Benjamin Calderon on Saturday. Police say the fight started after Calderon took the chicken foot from a skillet where Jugo was cooking.
