Campfires and s’mores are a staple of summertime enjoyment.

Melted chocolate and warm marshmallows sandwiched between two graham crackers will always be delicious, but sometimes it can be fun to play with the classic combination. Adding Reese’s peanut butter cups to s’mores is a common sight, and there are plenty of other ways to change up the taste of your campfire treat.

Lemon meringue

For a tangy citrus treat, s’mores can be transformed into a campfire version of lemon meringue pie. Jaclyn of the blog Cooking Classy suggested simply coating a graham cracker with lemon curd and adding a toasted marshmallow.

Chocolate mint

Melted mint chocolate goes great with gooey marshmallow for a tasty treat that has the added benefit of giving you good breath. For a little bit more chocolate, you can switch out regular graham crackers for chocolate graham crackers.
