MUSKOGEE — A sixth man has been sentenced in the 2011 shooting death of a Fort Gibson teenager.
Fredrick Watson Jr., who is now 20, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison with the possibility of parole for the killing of 17-year-old Ryan Satterfield. Prosecutors allege that the teen was shot during a robbery on Nov. 23, 2011.
Authorities say Watson wasn't the gunman but participated in the robbery that led to Satterfield's death. Watson was convicted in August of felony first-degree murder, and five others have been convicted or pleaded guilty in the death.
At the sentencing hearing, Satterfield's mother told Watson that she forgave him.
A local newspaper reports that Watson will be 58 before he's eligible for parole.
