The beer tasting event is set for two sessions on that Friday — 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Devon Boathouse.
Tickets are on sale for $20 and can be purchased at this link. According to the event website, 50 percent of net proceeds from the event will go to the charity Pros 4 Vets. The group helps vets through the transition from the battlefield to home.
One neat thing about this year’s Beerfest is that it will feature 100 percent Oklahoma beers. Catering will be provided by Deep Fork Grill. Good food and good beer for $20? Can’t beat that.
-The weekly Monday pint night at McNellie’s OKC tonight is Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale.
-In other McNellie’s OKC news, the pub recently announced the next Oklahoma Beer Dinner. This one’s set for June 11 and seating is limited. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
-Also, McNellie’s OKC has Choc Spring Pilsner on sale for $2.50 during June.
-A bunch of beer news happened in the past two weeks while I was absorbed in newspaper coverage of the storms. One thing was that Prairie Artisan Ales got the keys to its new brewhouse. Another was that Mustang Brewing had its brewhouse wrecked by Friday’s storms. I’ll try chipping away at the rest of the news as this hopefully storm-free week progresses.
