Outdoors: A killer heat wave

Hal McKnight of Oklahoma City spent the last three days desperately trying to save the fish in his four farm ponds in southwest Oklahoma by seining them and moving the fish to a deeper hole.

“It's a death spiral,” McKnight said. “There are a lot of us in this same situation. Pray for rain. Pray for a hurricane. This is the worse it's ever been.”

Fish kills are not unusual during Oklahoma summers...
