Mack Brown had plenty of successes as the head coach at Texas. But overall, the Red River Rivalry wasn't among them. Brown was 7-9 overall against the Sooners and 6-9 in the game after Bob Stoops took over OU. But Brown, a former OU assistant, did lead the Longhorns to several memorable wins over the Sooners. Here are four of the biggest:
Texas 45, Oklahoma 12
The Longhorns came in as big favorites and championship contenders, and they certainly played the part, blowing out the Sooners to break OU's five-game win streak against Texas. Vince Young threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns.
Texas 45, Oklahoma 35
The Sooners jumped to a 21-10 lead early in the second quarter before the Longhorns came back to outscore OU 35-14 in the final 40 minutes to upset the top-ranked Sooners in the highest-scoring game in series history to that point.
Texas 16, Oklahoma 13
Texas scored fewer points than it had in three seasons but knocked Sam Bradford from the game early and then held the Sooners to negative-16 yards rushing to beat OU for the fourth time in five seasons.
Texas 36, Oklahoma 20
Undefeated OU was a two-touchdown favorite but Texas, which had lost two games already, jumped out to a big lead in the first half and came out with a big upset, keeping its hopes of winning the Big 12 alive.
