Mack Brown was a large part of Texas' longtime dominance over Oklahoma State, which included 12 consecutive victories from 1998-2009. But much like his tenure in Austin overall, he struggled against the Cowboys late. OSU has won three of its last four against the Longhorns, with all of those victories coming in Austin.
Still, here are four of Brown's most memorable wins against the Cowboys:
Texas 17, Oklahoma State 15
The second-ranked Longhorns survived in Austin after stopping Rashaun Woods just short of the goal-line on a two-point try. Cedric Benson tallied 27 carries for 117 yards.
Texas 56, Oklahoma State 35
After trailing 35-7 in the second quarter, the Longhorns ripped off 49 unanswered points to win by three touchdowns. Vince Young passed for 278 yards and rushed for 123 yards, while Cedric Benson finished with 141 yards and five touchdowns.
Texas 38, Oklahoma State 35
Another epic comeback for the ‘Horns — this time in the fourth quarter. Trailing 35-14 entering the final period, Texas stormed back with 24 unanswered points, including Ryan Bailey's 40-yard game-winning field goal as time expired. Jamaal Charles finished with 180 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard score in the fourth.
Texas 41, Oklahoma State 36
A wild fourth quarter featured four lead changes, including the decisive (and controversial) two-yard touchdown run by Joe Bergeron with 29 seconds left. David Ash completed 30-of-37 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns — all to Jaxon Shipley.
