A message to the readers of The Oklahoman and NewsOK

While we’ve been continuing the evolution of NewsOK, we also have introduced a new premium site for our subscribers, Oklahoman.com.

It’s a website that was created with readers of The Oklahoman in mind. The content comes directly from our newsroom – locally reported and locally vetted. And reading Oklahoman.com requires a subscription. Some of our investigation and enterprise stories will be released exclusively on this site, providing “early access” to our valued subscribers.  If you are a current subscriber to The Oklahoman you always have full access to this site and all of our products.

So which website works best for you?

Do you want breaking news?  Do you want to know what people are taking about or what stories are trending online?  Do you want blog posts and quick links to other stories from around the web?

Then you are a NewsOK user.

Do you want traditional investigative journalism?  Do you want to browse through the day’s news at your own pace and dive deeper into stories?  Do you want a quieter, simplified news-reading experience?  Do you want first access to enterprise stories from The Oklahoman’s reporting staff?

Then you should use Oklahoman.com.

If you’re like me and many others, you will want to use both.

Ultimately, our goal is to keep NewsOK the most popular free, advertiser supported site – while providing special and exclusive value and content to our paid subscribers on Oklahoman.com.  After all, publishing content is not free.

We hope you like these changes.  Please tell us how we are doing by sending me an email at creen@opubco.com

Thank you for your support and patronage.
