A name in singularity
If Thunder becomes the name for Oklahoma City 's National Basketball Association franchise, it will be one of only a handful of teams with a singular name in the four Major League sports.
Of the 122 Major League franchises, only six are singular. The National Football League and Major League Baseball do not have any singular nicknames. The National Hockey League and NBA have three each.
