A+ network is now plus 8 with Oklahoma schools
Program aims to nurture students’ creativity, innovation and critical thinking

Eight schools that joined the Oklahoma A+ Schools network were recognized Wednesday at the state Capitol.

They are: Madill Early Childhood Center; Oklahoma City Educare; Peace Academy in Tulsa; Sacred Heart Catholic School in El Reno; Santa Fe South Elementary School in Oklahoma City; and Silo elementary, junior high and high schools in Durant.

Educators will be trained to integrate arts into teaching. Oklahoma A+ Schools includes 60 schools covering children from birth to 12th grade. The network aims to nurture creativity, innovation and critical thinking.

Michelle Wartley, principal of Santa Fe South Elementary, said, "We look forward to developing an environment that breeds creativity and student inquiry.”
