We've heard your requests and made changes based on your suggestions. We want the new Oklahoman to meet the needs of our readers. You'll find concise stories, as well as reader devices that help you learn more. And of course, we'll have the more in-depth articles that you depend on.
THE DESIGNThe new paper is vibrant. Each section has a different color to help guide you. And in talking to some of our readers, they agreed that the new print is clearer, bolder and easier to read. On the front page you'll find a column of briefs, and a quick glance at other stories in the paper and on our Web site. In addition, many of our stories on the front cover won't continue to another page. But the most important story of the day will get plenty of space and coverage.
IT'S COMPACTAt first glance, you'll notice the pages are brighter, but you'll also see the paper is narrower. Many of the readers we talked to said the smaller size made it easier to handle and easier to carry.
SCAN VS. READFor those of you on the go, our new format provides summaries for scanning the latest headlines. Information boxes and graphics are designed to help you pick and choose. You can either do a quick read or you can spend more time with the entire article.
EXTRASWhen you open The Oklahoman, you'll notice a few other surprises: →We've added reporters' e-mail addresses to bylines so it's easier for you to contact us. →The new weather page can help you better plan your day with forecasts for different times. →The Life section will have the best lifestyle and entertainment stories on the cover, with the traditional stories inside. →No more fighting over the paper. There will be a separate Sports Monday, and You! will move to Thursday. →A movie guide and reviewer's corner will tell you what's playing. →We are making our Sunday content even richer, with The Week in Pictures.
