Jakob Dutton, 17, of Edmond, has earned his Eagle Scout award. The son of Jon and Lisa Dutton, he is a member of Troop 346 chartered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Edmond.
Dutton’s Eagle project was gathering information to submit to Find-A-Grave to assist genealogists in their family history research.
A homeschooled student, Dutton enjoys reading, running and studying history.
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services held a governor’s conference on developmental disabilities and recognized Sunny Fokum, of Oklahoma City, who is a We Care LLC Habilitation training specialist and backup house manager. He received an award of excellence in direct support services.
Fokum was nominated by program coordinator Chaketa Njifunuh, who said Fokum provides excellent service to his client with developmental disabilities and is considered a role model.
“He exemplifies the service worker industry and makes every effort to do the best he can at all times,” Njifunuh said. “Sunny has worked with an individual on a one-on-one basis for five years. The boy has accomplished a lot due to Sunny’s hard work and efforts.”
