CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois University's athletic director says he's "confident but not comfortable” the Salukis' men's basketball coach won't be wooed away by other schools with vacancies.

Chris Lowery's name is being mentioned in connection with openings at Marquette and Oklahoma State.

Southern's AD Mario Moccia says he's never comfortable with the big money being offered by schools with openings. And he knows Lowery has become a high-profile coach.

But Moccia says he's confident Lowery will stay put in Carbondale, his alma mater.

Lowery makes $750,000 a year and has guided the Salukis to three NCAA tournaments in his four seasons as coach.

Moccia says he's not been approached by other schools about Lowery.
