Dez Bryant remains suspended.
Kendall Hunter remains questionable.
Still, the
Cowboys are 6-1 overall, 3-0 in the
Big 12 and taking on
Texas tonight for command of the South Division.
They’ve not only survived serious personnel hits, they’ve thrived, a tribute to their improved depth through recruiting.
Tonight, of course, presents a greater challenge in a further test of how far the program has come.
"I’d love to have those guys,” said co-offensive coordinator
Gunter Brewer of Bryant and Hunter, "because of what they’ve been able to do in the big games. I’ve yet to see, other than Zac (Robinson), who can be that great player in that key matchup game. We’re going to find out whether one of those guys can step up to the plate and make a play against a quality team like this.
"Are we comfortable? As comfortable as we can be. We love our kids. We’re going to go to war with who we have.”
