ADELAIDE, Australia (AP) — Striker Corey Gameiro headed in a free kick to give 10-man Sydney FC a 2-2 draw with Adelaide United in the A-League on Friday.

Jake Barker-Daish's goal from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute gave Adelaide a 2-1 lead before Gameiro's equalizer with seven minutes remaining.

Sydney's Nicky Carle was sent off after a second yellow card in the 68th minute for contact with Adelaide midfielder Isaias Sanchez.

First-place Brisbane will attempt to increase its four-point lead over Western Sydney when the Roar plays the Melbourne Victory on Saturday. Newcastle hosts Perth in the other match.
