Regarding “State running out of execution drugs” (Tulsa World, April 30): There are several alternatives, and they're more economically feasible.
A short rope and a tree. The rope can be used over and over, as can the tree. History has proved this to be quite useful.
A guillotine. Again, this can be used over and over and it's done in a second.
Firing squad. All it costs are the bullets.
With these methods we don't have to worry about namby-pamby companies or for that matter, that many purchases. This is something for the Department of Corrections to think about. All of these worked for quite some time before the bleeding hearts took over.

Oklahoma law allows the firing squad as an alternative to lethal injections.
