A bicycle tour led by Afghanistan War veterans that has covered more than 8,000 miles in three years is coming to Oklahoma to share music and poetry designed to help veterans heal from war trauma.

“A Ride Till the End” is on tour promoting tour leader Jacob George's album, “Soldier's Heart,” a collection of song and story about the war in Afghanistan, post-traumatic stress disorder and how PTSD touches everyone.

This album is a fundraiser to help send a group of veterans back to Afghanistan for healing.

Gold Star Mother and “peace mom” Cindy Sheehan is also leading a bicycle ride across the United States from the grave of her son Casey, an Iraq War veteran, in Vacaville, Calif., to Washington, D.C., and the two groups will meet in Norman on Sunday.

The Ride Till the End tour will make two stops in Oklahoma.

Saturday, the family-friendly performance is at 8 p.m. at Sauced, 2912 Paseo Drive in Oklahoma City.

On May 16, the concert is at 7 p.m. at Coffee House on Cherry Street, 1502 E. 15 St. in Tulsa.

George, 31, is a three-tour veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom who was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army Special Operation Command from 2001-2004.

George is co-founder of A Ride Till The End, a veteran-led perpetual bicycle ride for recovery and healing based in Fayetteville, Ark. He returned to Afghanistan in 2011 and shares the stories he heard there with bluegrass and folk music and poetry.
