Mail carriers collected more than 630,000 pounds of food to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma during the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on Saturday.
The
Oklahoma City area branch of the
National Association of Letter Carriers collected about 458,000 pounds of that amount, officials said. The rest came from other communities and counties served by the food bank.
Residents left bags of nonperishable food near their mailboxes.
